When I rebooted Carrot Cake in its current version, I had just finished a couple of books that felt like they were written at me. Stephen King’s “On Writing” and Anne Lamott’s “Bird by Bird”. Both are legendary books about writing. I’ve been writing for 15 years. Some of my first blog posts were posted in 2006.
Routines
I feel like this post is your “vision board” and I’m jealous! Good work! (Oh and I hope you get your donuts from Donut King.)
Wow! The universe is opening up for you . keep on keeping on!! i love your stories, even the boozy ones!
Organize your writing by working on:
1. Story titles and ideas - make a list, just the grain of an idea, not more
2. Outlines for the stories -- catch the beats, the big points, the conflicts
3. Write three stories at the same time, so your fingers and mind stay fresh
4. Finish up one story at a time
By creating this manufactured process, you will improve your storytelling, make it more organized, increase your output, and increase your craft.
It's like "arms day" v "legs day."
Good luck.
